My story

Why Oktoprod exists

Oktoprod wasn't born from a desire for independence, nor from a financial opportunity. It's the outcome of a career change driven by one simple passion: turning an idea into something concrete, and creating tools that make running a business easier.

The trigger

In accounting, the repetitiveness of the work started to wear on me: the same tasks, over and over, with little real value added. But somewhere in that grind, I found what really excited me: automating those processes. Once a task was automated, I'd fall right back into the same boredom as before — and it was that contrast that eventually pushed me to make it my career.

Discovering development

Programming felt like an obvious answer. I realised it was exactly the tool that let me solve this kind of problem: turning an idea into something concrete, usable, that genuinely changes someone's daily life.

The career change

Discovering development is one thing. Rebuilding everything to make a living from it is another. I started with a computer science degree in evening classes, alongside my full-time job. Then I decided to go all in and replace my full-time job with a specialized .NET development program, on top of my evening classes — stacking up to 12 hours of training a day, for a year, before landing an internship, then my first job.

Today

Today, Oktoprod exists for one simple reason: to help small businesses work more calmly, thanks to tools designed for them — not inherited from the needs of large organisations. The analytical instinct built over ten years in accounting still serves me well: it helps me quickly get to the real business issue behind every request.
